How did Yuli - The Holy Book come about ?

Yuli - The Holy Book was brought to this world by a poor cultivator, who was known as Dan Chi the cultivator.

Below is the true story of what happened :

On the ninth day of ninth moon in the year 1030 AD, Dan Chi followed the Chinese tradition of climbing the mountain on this auspicious day.

While he was enjoying the scenery, he went into a trance. He saw a stone carving with 56 Chinese characters inscribed on it.

He also saw a grand palace with a red door. A horizontal inscribed board was pinned down with golden nails on the top of the door. Four words were inscribed across. They read: Chu (Exit) Sheng (Birth) Ru (Entrance) Si (Death).

While he was admiring the grandeur of the palace, he was pulled into the palace by an official who was dressed in a green costume.

He climbed up the steps to kowtow to the emperor before returning to the bottom of the stairs.

The palace was brightly lit. It was very busy as all the gods had gathered there to celebrate the birthday of Feng Du Da Di (The emperor of Feng Province in Sichuan China.)

He saw the ten Yama-kings of the nether world, together with all the nether judges attending the function.

Feng Du Da Di said :

"Lord Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva wants to deliver all the ghosts residing in the nether world. He does not want to see all human beings who have done bad deeds to descend to the nether world and suffer all kinds of punishment. Therefore, he has given all of us the permission to condone and reduce the sentences as the case may be, for those who really repented on what they had done while they were alive."

"All the implementation guidelines have been submitted by the nether gods to the Jade emperor. Jade emperor has also given consent that they should be recorded in Yuli - The Holy Book and be circulated and implemented in the mortal world at once."

"However, to-date, the book is still not released to the mortal world, as nobody of great virtue has been found. Today, I have found the right person - Dan Chi, who is standing over there. I am going to entrust him with the task. Kindly compile all the quotations and copy them into Yuli - The Holy Book at once."

"By the order of Jade emperor, all the salutary parts of the submissions should be deleted. In addition, the origin of the gods, the name of the gods, should not be directly mentioned, just the terms such as XX king, XX judge should suffice."

"To ensure that there is no misunderstanding, all the contents must be properly punctuated."
